Ethical issues can arise in a variety of situations for environmental and occupational health and safety (EHS) professionals. This website contains resources for resolving ethical dilemmas, including access to the Ethics in Focus newsletter articles.
This website is also the home of the Ethics for the EHS Professionals course. This course outlines the principles that have been established for making ethical decisions as set out in various professional codes of ethics, including the Code of Ethics of the Board for Global EHS Credentialing (BGC), formally the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH).
The course focuses on understanding how professional codes of ethics can be interpreted and used. It outlines a step-by-step approach for identifying, analyzing and resolving any ethical dilemmas you may face in the future. The goal is to to provide a practical approach for developing and analyzing options when you are faced with an ethical dilemma.
